Weekly Photo Challenge – Favorite Place

This weeks Photo Challenge, Favorite Place, asks us to “share an image of your happy place, a secret spot you love, or a faraway location you return to again and again.” For me that is an easy answer. Chiang Mai, Thailand stole my heart in 2009 and 2010; the actual place that I feel is my home away from home is Horizon Village and Resort.

Very close after that is Tweechol Botanical Garden; it backs up to Horizon and includes lots of plants from around the world, a maze/labyrinth, topiary, paddle/pedal boats, a zoo, and a museum, just to name a few.

Then there’s the beach…the sound of the waves, sand beneath the feet and squishing between the toes. Anywhere from Ventura to points North, more favorite places.

Another favorite place is sitting somewhere next to a stream, listening to the water bubbling over the rocks.

Then there’s my sweet boy, his favorite place (when it’s cold) is snuggled up in my bed.

Weekend Freebie 10-05-18: Out in Space

This weeks freebie was created by me on my iPad Pro using Artstudio Pro. I started with a gradient ring, added an image of clouds & an image of concrete grunge that I took with my iPhone SE, then used some brushes that come with the app to create the stars and debris. The final image size is 6000 x 4000 @ 300 dpi. File size is 14.20 MB.

Weekend Freebie 09-07-18: Sky Replacement

Today’s freebie started life as a photo of my crystal fiber lamp. I then ran it through Topaz Studio to process the RAW file. Then I opened it in Affinity Photo and came up with the design. Last step was running it through Filter Forge to come up with the look you see. The final image size is 6000 x 4000 @ 300 dpi. File size is 26.75 MB.
