It has been (probably) over a decade since I last attempted a 365 project. I don’t even think I made it to half a year, but in 2019, I am going to give it a go…they won’t be your ordinary photos, I can tell you that. I’m not one to take “ordinary” flower photos where you just lean over and take the shot. I plan on playing around more with depth of field and unusual angles to give more artistic photos. Guess that means my Olympus OM-D EM-5 will be getting more of a workout, along with extension tubes and an assortment of Nikon mount manual lenses.

So, for Day 1 I offer you “A Bird of Paradise”

  1. Very cool! I love the colors and love the way the closeup shows it has a speckled texture. I’d never guess what it was except for the title. Fun!

    1. Happy New Year, Mary! I think Bird of Paradise flowers are one of my favorites partly because they have so many different looks depending on how you stand and look at them.

      1. Happy New Years to you too. Hope it’s a great one.

The BoP flowers also have an unusual shape too, almost architectural which I find quite interesting
