I’ve always been fascinated with the interplay of light and shadows. For today’s photo I found myself searching for the perfect “light” background to meter for, and let the shadows create their own shapes. The cactus on the left is well over 8 feet tall as is the out of focus cactus on the right; I never realized that the wind can affect thorns and make them move…at least until I saw this picture. The light background is the sun reflecting off of trumpet vine leaves.

There was very minimal processing done to the RAW photo, just added a little bit of structure and a vignette.
