Weekly Photo Challenge – Favorite Place

This weeks Photo Challenge, Favorite Place, asks us to “share an image of your happy place, a secret spot you love, or a faraway location you return to again and again.” For me that is an easy answer. Chiang Mai, Thailand stole my heart in 2009 and 2010; the actual place that I feel is my home away from home is Horizon Village and Resort.

Very close after that is Tweechol Botanical Garden; it backs up to Horizon and includes lots of plants from around the world, a maze/labyrinth, topiary, paddle/pedal boats, a zoo, and a museum, just to name a few.

Then there’s the beach…the sound of the waves, sand beneath the feet and squishing between the toes. Anywhere from Ventura to points North, more favorite places.

Another favorite place is sitting somewhere next to a stream, listening to the water bubbling over the rocks.

Then there’s my sweet boy, his favorite place (when it’s cold) is snuggled up in my bed.

I had forgotten about trying to write one, when Mary asked me yesterday if I had written one yet. I told her when my image was finished I was going to give it a try. Well, here is my first attempt.

Day 46 of 365

Nature is pretty amazing, especially when you look at it through a macro lens. I was looking at the moss starting to grow on our mimosa tree when I noticed whatever this is that split the outer layer of bark away from the limb.
