This year I’ve started a new post category, Friday Freebie. Every Friday I will be giving away something for free; to start it might only be textures, but as I get more into (digital) mixed media, it might be digital stencils, digital brushes, or even an image that you can use. I hope that you enjoy creating with the freebies.
Today’s freebie was created using Distressed Oxide on Photo paper. One of its cool properties, at least on photo paper, is that you can use a baby wipe to clean off the chalky look, leaving you with a multi-layered vibrant image. I scanned it in at 600 dpi so you have a high resolution image to play with. The final image size, after shrinking down a bit, is 6000 x 4000 @ 300 dpi.
* Note: The file is stored in my Dropbox account. If you don’t have an account with them, and don’t want an account, look at the bottom of the box and click on “No thanks, continue to view“.
If you noticed the hearts in the sample image from last weeks freebie, they were created from today’s free texture. Here’s a little something I put together today, in Affinity Photo, to show one way you can use the image.
I would love to see what you create with this texture. Feel free to share it on the Facebook group, here.
